Matt poked his head around the doorframe, his eyebrows knit in confusion as he searched out the figures at the far side of the room—L perched at the foot of Mello’s bed, his toes scrunching the bed sheets as he watched the blond boy turn the book over and over in his hands.   
“It has also been published as a short story.”   
“But… you gave me a comic book.”

Swans - Chapter IX“You guys can’t do this!” Matt shouted, pounding his fist furiously against the wall of the corridor, “He’s my friend, you can’t keep me from making sure he’s okay!”   
Madame Weir, the small, motherly resident nurse of Wammy’s House, stood in the doorway, her arms braced against either side of the doorframe, firmly blocking his way into the infirmary. Roger and Mr. Wammy had taken up position several steps behind her, flanking the matron in the unlikely event that the fuming redhead should make it past her.

Swans - Chapter VIIIMatt snatched up his bookbag, swinging it over his shoulder excitedly as he glanced around at Mello, grinning conspiratorially. The blond gave him a half-hearted smirk in return, slowly stuffing the test he’d just gotten back into the bottom of his bag.   
“Matt, may I have a word, please?”   
The boys shared a short, confused glance, before Matt waved for Mello to go on without him and walked up the aisle to Ms. Bourgh’s desk at the front of the room. He watched Mello’s honey blond hair disappear around the corner of the doorway as he rocked back on the balls of his feet, waiting impatiently as Ms Swans - Chapter VIII

I suck. I am very aware of this. I don't think there's anyone more aware of just how much I suck.

I'd actually been writing! I HAD! (party) Wooo! Like, got a huuuuuuge chunk of the last chapter of Swans done and really just needed to pad it a little. Then. Oh, then. I... made a huge mistake. As some of you may know... my best friend is obsessed with Kingdom Hearts (and when I say "obsessed" I don't mean fangirling. I mean she dated it. She and Kingdom Hearts have been involved since last summer. Seriously.) and has been trying to get me to play it for a long time. I've never gotten around to it, so I compromised. And thus made my mistake. I watched the cutscenes from all three games.

...I think I'm in love. I mean. Crap! I'd watched Demyx Time, and read some hilarious comics, but... GAH! I'm in love with a game I've never even played and I feel terrible 'cause I'm totally cheating on Death Note. :cry: It's just...! Fucking Organization XIII!!!!!! Sure, I like Sora... and Riku makes me want to DIE, but I could live without them. But those stupid incompetent bad guys...! I thought all of the hilarity was people making fun of them like I make fun of Legolas. I love him, and show my affection through torment. But it's ALL CANNON! They're really that stupid! And I love it! Seriously! And WTF, Marluxia? I seriously had a dream that you popped into the other night (I dunno why, it had nothing to do with you. o.O) and the only thing I could think of when I woke up was "How. the. HELL. do you still manage to be that masculine?" HOW!? And... and... ROXAS! And Axel! (I watched FFVII, today, and literally squealed 'cause I'd forgotten that Reno and Axel had the same voice actor) And Saix and... HELL. I love them all. I even love VEXEN. VEXEN! The craziest S.O.B. to ever crazy anything! AND WTFZEXIONISDARIENOMGWUT!!!!!!? ZEXION! DARIEN! WHAT!? And oh god, there's so much guy love! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (head esplode.)

Um. /end rant.

Needless to say. I haven't gotten much done since all this happened. I've been on a very, VERY long field trip to the KH fandom. Fuck. I'm sorry. I... I fail. So it's not that I don't know what's going on with Swans... it's just that... well... AkuRoku...! (whiney lip quiver)

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorry!

Wow, thanks! :blush: It always weirds me out to hear people say that... 'cause I don't see anything special about the way I write compared to some other fanfic writers. I'd rattle off a list, but whatev. ^_^ As it is, I'm just so glad to hear you liked the story! It's like my baby, in a weird way. I love it so much... I just haven't gotten around to finishing up the last chapter. Though my fandom vacation hasn't really helped with that, I'm sure.... Heh. ^^;
And I bet your fics are great! I have to sleep now and wake up early for work tomorrow... (EW.) But when I get some time, I'm definitely gonna track down your stuff! HaHA!

After seeing :iconmad-hatters-hare:'s drawing of a scene from "Swans" I just had to read it. And as I told her, here I am, spamming your page with comments :giggle: I can't help myself though, it had me so enthralled I rapidly got to chapter 13. It's very awesome! I'm enjoying it very much and can't wait for updates :heart: Especially after the end of chapter 13...:omg:...can you say cliffhanger?!

And her art is great, isn't it? I'm sad that the comic seems like it'll never make a full appearance because I saw page 3 and it was freaking adorable! :( But the rest of her stuff is worth it on its own. :D
So sorry about the cliffhanger and such. It was never meant to be quite this... longlasting of a cliffhanger... heh. I just had a lot happen and then lost my motivation. I'm still working on it. Very, very slowly.
